Training course objective
Objective of the training course for PART 66 category B1 is to enable the candidate to acquire knowledge and skills which permit the him/her to perform unscheduled defect rectification as well as scheduled line maintenance, tasks which include electrical systems provided that the functionality of the system can be established by simple self-test facility, or by some other functionality testing systems/equipment for aircraft use or by simple equipment for apron checks.
B1 category is subdivided into four subcategories relative to combinations of aeroplanes, helicopters, turbine and piston engines. These subcategories are:
— B1.1 Aeroplanes Turbine
— B1.2 Aeroplanes Piston
— B1.3 Helicopters Turbine
— B1.4 Helicopters Piston
Minimum requirements to take up the training course or part of the course
The minimum requirements that the applicant should fulfil to take up the training or part of the training course are the following:
The training course include: theoretical training, basic theoretical knowledge examinations, practical training and practical knowledge assessment.
Training is conducted as closely as possible to the real world of day-to-day aviation operations. Thanks to our close ties to AMO’s such as JAT Tehnics and others, we are able to incorporate a lot of operational and maintenance data into our courses.
All our instructors are highly-qualified aircraft engineers, and their many years of aviation experience go into the training they provide.

Theoretical examinations are conducted using the multi-choice question format and essay questions. Number of questions and time allowed per subject is given in the following table:

1 Suitable essay questions are drafted and evaluated using the knowledge syllabus for Modules 7A, 9A and 10. which are given in Appendix I of PART-66.
Acceptance of the previous training course
The previous training course or its part would be accepted if the applicant holds the evidence of training course completion in any EASA Part-147 approved maintenance organisation and the applicant only attends differential modules.
